Fitting the Monitor
Small electrodes are attached to your chest and connected to a lightweight recording device that clips to your belt or fits in a pocket. The process takes about 15 minutes.
Wear a lightweight monitor for 24 hours during your normal activities. Detects atrial fibrillation, palpitations and other rhythm problems — fully covered by Medicare.

A Holter monitor is a small, portable heart monitoring device that you wear for 24 hours while going about your normal daily activities. It continuously records your heart's electrical activity, capturing every heartbeat over the monitoring period.
This test is particularly valuable for detecting intermittent heart rhythm problems (arrhythmias) such as atrial fibrillation, supraventricular tachycardia, or other irregular heartbeats that may not occur during a brief in-clinic assessment.
The Holter monitor is fitted at our Sydenham, Bundoora or Williams Landing clinic and returned the following day. Dr Grewal analyses the full 24-hour recording and provides a detailed report to your GP. The test is fully bulk billed through Medicare.

Here is what happens before, during and after your 24 hour holter monitor.
Small electrodes are attached to your chest and connected to a lightweight recording device that clips to your belt or fits in a pocket. The process takes about 15 minutes.
You wear the monitor for 24 hours while carrying out your normal activities. You may be asked to keep a diary of any symptoms you experience, such as palpitations, dizziness, or chest pain.
You return to the clinic the following day to have the monitor removed. Dr Grewal analyses the recording and a detailed report is sent to your GP.
Follow these steps to ensure your 24 hour holter monitor appointment runs smoothly.
All you need is a valid Medicare card and a referral from your GP. All cardiology referrals accepted. We handle the billing directly with Medicare — there is no claim to lodge and nothing to pay.
